Talking stories with Ronel Van Tonder! (podcast)
A wee while back I got the awesome chance to talk to Author Ronel Van Tonder on her podcast ‘Read/Write’.
Each episode Ronel talks to a reader about books and stories from a reader’s experience and then talks to an author who talks about the creator experience.
It was super fun! and I was mega nervous but Ronel made it really easy!
We talked about favourite films from books, why we like reading, authors we like and things that make you pick up a book- at least that’s what I tried to talk about, might have gotten side tracked by Anne Rice & The Baby Sitters Club.
Afterwards I totally talked Ronel’s ears off about games (Ronel is a gamer too), the perils of being indie and introverted and of course her really, really good book Compile Quest!! I fangirled out.
Author Eric J Gates talks with Ronel about the writing process for his thrillers and they chat about being Indie authors and his style which is ‘thriller with a bit of strange’!
As we are making an RPG, the story is one of our top priorities.
Character development and pace of the game are one of our worries that we constantly have to evaluate-being that we
swagger jacked are wearing the hat of a writer but neither of us would call ourselves writers and many developers especially indies have that same obstacle.
(So basically our gameplay better be tight as fuuuuuu…n)
Note: In the cast I say ‘our game will def be out this year’ (sorrrrrry)
Anyways due to a significant change that can’t happen anymore- it will be 2016. At the time of recording we didn’t know about the change thing :D.
Lastly again I HAVE to recommend Ronel Van Tonder’s book series because I completely love it (if you liked the first Hunger Games, Foundation, Dune you’ll be into it) I seriously wouldn’t recommend it if I didn’t like it.
Compile Quest is my new favourite book and Debug is a brilliant follow up! So please go support a talented Indie! you can get it on itunes & amazon.
Word is the 3rd instalment is nearly ready too!!
