Coins and Stuff Dungeon City updates (art/devlog)
Sirens and bush pigs and bears OH MY!
We’ve got loads of cool stuff in the works right now. We’re starting to get the art into final stages, so bye bye to super cute test-Billi.
I’ve made Naz keep him and all his little janky glory as I’ll kind of miss him – but he was always a placeholder for the ‘real’ Billi and the cooler ‘hi-res’ stuff.
I actually thought maybe we could keep him, but the way the game progresses with the kids it’s a bit too far from most of the visuals.
For the next few weeks we are focusing on animations; we’ve got a lot enemies to do. I have a fave mob type at the moment the ‘Bush pigs’.
“Geez the bush pigs are loose” is a term we use when we hear men and women squealing around like wild boars outside our apartment late at night (inner city living). Often it’s ‘girls night out’ or ‘boys on tour’ groups. They look completely ‘normal’ until you check to make sure those yells aren’t actually murder and see that it’s just some mid 40’s ‘lad’ getting in a fight with a BK wrapper… or a bin (always with the bins).
At some point in most 18+ yr old lives we’ve been the bush pig so I’m in no way being judgey. I just got inspired by bush pigs to make a type for our game.
Bush pigs are my muse.
Lastly we’ve had some awesome news recently which has given us a bit more motivation to really go for things. We might not get the chance to make many games, so we’ve got to make the most of this experience! We’ll talk about it later though.
Anyways, back to it.
