Leaving it free and keeping it funky.
(out now on Android, windows should be up in a couple days and iOS might be a week away – it’s in review)
We are keeping ‘Coins and Stuff’ and all its expanded content 100% free! no ads, no in-apps no joke.
Do we expect a fricking medal: no. Is what we released worth 99c? Hell yeah.
If you think that what we have done is decent then please rate us or review it. That’s really the only way we can spread the fun.
It’s kind of cool because we know that parents have absolutely nothing to worry about with our game.
It’s not endless, there are no ads, there is zero chance anyone can wrack up $ and they get a pretty cool casual game to play for free. No need to ask for card details or login with anything; I know when I was a kid that would of been awesome.
Why we kept it free? Two factors:
1: Realising how strong that payment barrier can be and ultimately we just want to build up a reputation as game makers and have people play our stuff.
I realised how big this is when Tanuki Forest posted in #gamedev. Even though I fan girl’d hard over it and still think it’s cute as pie… if it wasn’t free with no ads I honestly wouldn’t have got it, even if it was 99c (its not a game type i usually like). I got it and really liked it and brought some in-app as they deserve it.
2: The engine we use at the moment has some issues with in-app payments (we were going to do a single in-app purchase); we don’t feel comfortable using it, as we don’t have the time to build something (right now) or be making sure things aren’t messing up over 3-5 stores. So, better safe than sorry.
But mostly it’s number 1. We really just want to give a fun experience free of bs to everyone. Yeah, we make nothing financially off it, but we just hope people like it enough to follow what we do in the future.
The reputation we build is one we hope consists of ‘fun games’, ‘gets shiz made’ and ‘keeps maintaining stuff’.
For anyone out there who is playing, hope you have a laugh, enjoy it, and please rate it. Muchos thanks!
